Run, We Must is a line of printed art and clothing designs founded by musician and animator Ben KN to promote sources of renewable energy, celebrate nature, and raise people’s awareness of other issues close to his heart.

For every month that’s above freezing, Ben can be found at all manner of concerts, festivals, and conventions with his electronic beat-generating gizmos, guitars, and boxes of Run, We Must art and apparel in tow.  The name, Run, We Must, comes from a song he wrote during a trip to Alaska that speaks to the sanctuary & solitude one can discover from nature, and yet ironically, the unavoidable interconnection of living things that one must apprehend by observing nature.

In addition to Run, We Must, Ben is currently working toward releasing the first stages of a trans-media project titled, The Reverie of Ruby Star.  Ode to his “three favorite things,” the Woods, Space, and Robots, “Reverie” is something of a science fiction, multimedia whirlwind that will ultimately yield a slew of graphic art, animation, and music that addresses humanity’s role as stewards of Earth, while also questioning whether we are ultimately destined to outgrow our Earthly home.

In addition to his design and printmaking work, Ben Karis-Nix is a musician and animator/director, as well. Prior to his solo debut, Ben previously performed with two other bands, the Orange, and Jupiter Sunrise. His recordings, performances, and songwriting have earned him features on the CW show “One Tree Hill,” MTV’s “Road Rules” and “Real World, “NPR’s “Weekend Edition,” and MySpace Compilation Vol. 1.
